How Do I Wear Black When It’s 100+ Outside?!

It’s been over 100 degrees in Austin since…I don’t know because it’s been so long I’ve forgotten.  Yet, if you’re anything like my sis-in-law, Cathy, you’re still going to stick to your favorite “color”, black.  The question is: how do you wear black without looking as if you might very well prove the theory of spontaneous combustion?

Wear it with neutrals.  I have this super comfy AND super cute black, empire waist, cap-sleeved dress that I wear in the winter with a cardigan and tights.  In the summer, I ditch the tights and cardy and wear it with neutral accessories, like these Nine West, square-toed slingbacks and my new, free-with-purchase tote from DSW.

You could wear white shoes, theoretically. Good luck finding a pair that don’t make you look like a porn star.
