Fall Trend: Monochrome

One of the trends this fall is wearing one color or pattern head-to-toe.  Such an outfit can be very striking, but when you’re wearing all one color, it’s good to make use of different textures.  Otherwise, your one-color outfit can  be a bit…boring.

dress: Banana Republic / necklace: Nordstrom Rack

Usually I’m not a fan of matchy-matchy outfits so it’s not a trend I would normally gravitate to, but this dress and these shoes practically demand to be worn together.

shoes: Nine West

The patent shoe provides a textural contrast, preventing the look from appearing flat.  If the shoe, for instance, were matte leather, the outfit wouldn’t be as visually appealing.

To knock the va-va-voom factor down a notch or two, I wore a Gap denim jacket and carried my cowhide shoulder bag.
