Color blocking in clothing and accessories has been a trend all year. I think it’s a cool trend, though I haven’t dabbled in it myself. Until now.
I was minding my own business, heading to the checkout counter at DSW with my clearance sale selection, when these shoes –
started calling my name. You know how shoes do.
Immediately, the clearance sale shoes were tossed aside (well, back where I found them) and I snatched these up, giddy with excitement. No, seriously. Giddy.
As I slipped them on and tied the satin shoestrings (SATIN!), I did a mental run-through of my closet, listing what I could – would – wear these gray and royal blue beauties with.
I came up with this –
but it’s only the beginning, people. It is only the beginning.
I LOVE IT!
And I (as I’m sure you find hard to believe)…would never think of putting them with a dress. I’d hide them under pants, but then that would totally defeat the purpose of the satin shoestrings.
See? Help?
My sister has some flat oxford style shoes kinda like this…and they look PRECIOUS with a long skirt and also with pants. Hers aren’t as dressy as yours though.
You totally have it goin’ on with this look. LOVE it.
Yes, it would be a sin – a SIN, I tell you! – to hide these shoes under pants.
I bet you’ve got your fair share of fabulous shoes in your closet, too, though.
I’m so glad Carrie gave you the award. I totally need the kind of thinking you are doing. I have a zero budget.
I loved, “You know how shoes do.”
I’m glad you get something out of my little blog, Maggie. Thanks for visiting and for commenting!
